Everything revolves around numbers. Wars have been won with the right numbers, contests lost due to lack of enough numbers, economy rising and failing based on the numbers and yet here I stand, saying numbers do not matter. The right numbers as a matter of  fact, is what matters. Having the right people surround you matters. There is strength in numbers and endless possibilities with the right numbers.

The key to keeping any business thriving, more so a new  one is being able to reach all the potential customers. When starting out, it is quite easy to stumble in the darkness but this does not have to be the case. So let’s get right to it.

How do you know which online channel to use? How do you know which platform will give you the best return on your investment(ROI)? How do you know that people will want to visit your page and want to go to your website and complete a purchase?

Well, today I get to expound a bit on Facebook marketing. Let’s call it Facebook 101.

Facebook is the largest social media network as well all know. We also know that the marketing game has been disrupted. The traditional way of doing business has changed and everyone, well almost everyone is online. Before we dive into what kind of content one should be posting, let us cover a few basic things first.

Here are some tips to consider when creating a Facebook page:

Username – A username is meant to give the targeted audience an idea on what your business is all about. The username should always stand out so that your clients can easily remember it.

About section- this is usually one of the main few sections that a prospective client usually checks out first. Here you should mention all the key details such as products and/or services that you offer, your website URL, contact information.

About description- This section is usually detailed. Here you can write your story, milestones, company overview, founding date, mission, location, contacts, website URL.

Cover photo- Be sure to use a cover photo that is attractive and eye-catching. All it takes to gain or lose a prospective client, is a simple glance. So be sure to use a cover photo that will turn that glance into a glaze and into checking you out.

Profile photo- Use a profile photo that is appropriate with the brand. Be professional when choosing your profile photo as this can either make you or break you. Remember, you want your business to be taken with the seriousness it deserves.

Create content- For a Facebook page to get likes and engagement, it needs content on its page. Use images and videos for more views and shares. Use live video feeds whenever possible (live feeds has been cited as a major disruptor). Remember that you also want people to back link to you as often as possible.

Promote your page- You can ask your friends to like your page as well use paid ads. The major benefit of using paid ads is that you get to choose your objectives and goals while defining your target audience and location. There is a lot to be said about paid ads, so that’s topic for another day. But to mention a few things, be sure to add the Call-To-Action (CTA) button with a customized destination URL.

Wrapping up

I hope with the above information, you will be able to create a Facebook page that will attract the right numbers and be able to increase engagement between you and your clients.

Until next time, cheers.
